_{selina  kile  is  born  on  a  small  moon  just  out  of  reach  of  coruscant  .  her  parents  ,  both  poor  ,  work  to  put  what  little  food  on  the  table  as  they  can  .  every  day  ,  at  the  same  time  ,  they  leave  ;  and  every  day  ,  at  the  same  time  ,  they  return  .  except  ,  one  evening  ,  selina’s  mother  failed  to  return  home  .  her  father  explained  that  her  mother  had  become  sick  of  their  poor  lifestyle  and  left  them  behind  ,  when  in  actuality  ,  she  had  been  pregnant  .  due  to  the  strict  single  -  child  policy  among  the  population  and  m’ria’s  reluctance  to  rid  herself  of  the  unborn  child  ,  she  took  her  own  life  in  fear  of  the  repercussion  that  her  own  weakness  would  bring  unto  her  living  daughter  .  it  was  only  a  few  months  later  that  selina’s  father  would  follow  the  same  path  ,  poisoning  himself  and  making  no  arrangements  for  his  only  child  to  be  taken  care  of  .}  

_{alone  and  confused  ,  young  selina  begins  to  make  work  for herself  ,  every  day  ,  at  the  same  time  she  leaves  ;  and  every  day  ,  at  the  same  time  ,  she  returns  .  her  hours  were  filled  with  pick  -  pocketing  and  swindling  those  with  enough  means  to  live  in  the  larger  towns  .  towns  with  no  limit  to  the  size  of  their  family  .  towns  where  they  would  just  drop  money  on  the  ground  and  were  too  careless  to  retrieve  it  .  and  for  the  longest  time  ,  selina  lived  in  isolation  ,  her  father  decomposing  in  a  pit  behind  her  home  on  what  miniscule  amount  of  land  they  had  .  eventually  the  smell  became  disconcerting  and  authorities  discovered  the  child  ,  dirty  ,  malnourished  ,  tired  ,  and  alone  .  mercy  was  extended  to  her  ,  allowing  selina  to  be  handed  off  to  a  girl’s  home  in  the  big  towns  where  she  would  learn  to  become  a  maid  ,  a  beautician  ,  a  cook  ,  an  all  -  around  servant  .}

_{able  to  endure  the  extensive  “  schooling  “  ,  selina  was  traded  off  to  a  wealthy  family  at  the  mature  age  of  fourteen  .  she  served  them  for  three  years  ,  quietly  and  without  causing  trouble  .  all  along  ,  however  ,  an  ache  to  be  free  began  to  stir  inside  of  her  .  only  a  few  weeks  before  her  eighteenth  birthday  ,  selina  executed  a  plan  that  ,  if  she  screwed  up  ,  would  undoubtedly  result  in  her  death  or  eternal  incarceration  .  in  the  years  she  had  served  the  family  ,  selina  collected  a  bountiful  amount  of  items  that  the  family  would  not  and  did  not  notice  go  missing  ,  and  on  the  night  of  her  escape  ,  that  is  all  she  took  with  her  .  she  squeezed  into  a  cargo  supply  ship  headed  back  to coruscant  where  she  stayed  compacted  for  nearly  three  days  .  but  it  was  worth  it  .}

_{after  scouring  the  streets  and  living  in  alleyways  for  nearly  a  week  ,  selina  ran  into  a  young  shop  owner  called  lola  .  lola  had  been  working  for  months  ,  collecting  intelligence  and  creating  heists  that  ,  given  her  own  lack  of  skill  ,  were  impossible  for  her  to  complete  .  however  ,  selina’s  amateur  thievery proved  to  be  just  enough  .  the  two  went  into  business  together  .  lola  provided  selina  with  a  place  to  live  ,  selina  provided  her  services  .}
